Cookie Notice
The short version
- We don't use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. We set one small functional cookie (
jd-visit-counted) so a visit isn't counted twice — see below. - We don't track you. No pixels, no fingerprinting, no third-party trackers. We keep a tally of visit counts and campaign tags. These counts are kept indefinitely.
- This cookie is strictly functional, so we don't ask for consent to set it.
Most websites greet you with a cookie wall because they're tracking you and the law says they have to ask first. JustDrop doesn't track you, so there's genuinely nothing to ask about. This page is the honest, slightly smug version of a cookie policy.
What we don't put on your device
- No tracking or advertising cookies.
- No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, nothing of the sort).
- No third-party scripts that follow you around the web.
- No device fingerprinting.
The small, honest exceptions
There are exactly two simple flags we may store in your browser. Both are strictly functional, neither is a tracking cookie, and neither identifies you.
If you dismiss our "we don't track you" banner, we save a single flag in your browser's local storage so we don't show it to you on every visit. It looks like this:
jd-cookie-notice = dismissed
That flag is strictly functional, lives only in your own browser, is never sent to us or anyone else, and tracks absolutely nothing. Clear your browser data and it's gone — and the banner will simply say hello again.
The second is a per-tab flag that simply stops us from counting the same visit twice while you're browsing. It looks like this:
jd-visit-counted = 1
This one lives in your tab's session storage, so it disappears the moment you close the tab. It isn't shared with anyone — it just makes sure one visit is counted as one visit in our tally of visit counts and campaign tags (the same tally we describe in our Privacy Policy).
What about the file transfer itself?
When you're using the app, your browser keeps the keys and room details it needs in memory to run the transfer. That information stays on your device, is used only to make the drop work, and isn't a tracking cookie. How we handle the transfer is covered in our Privacy Policy.
If this ever changes
If we ever add something that genuinely needs your consent, we'll ask you properly first — with a real choice, not a fake one — and update this page.
